Frequently asked questions

  • The cost will differ depending on if you are insured or non-insured. Email louise@portlapsurgery.com.au and she will email you a comprehensive welcome information email including fees.

  • Read through the list in the ‘Am I a Candidate?’ section.

    If you have a BMI greater than 30, have a health issue associated with your obesity such as type 2 diabetes (insulin resistance) and have tried weight loss strategies in the past you may qualify for a suitable procedure.

  • Around 10 business days to ensure you are recovered, well hydrated and are gaining plenty of nutrition from your food. Some people choose to return to light duties after a week although sitting for long periods, intense gym work or heavy lifting are not recommended until after your post op with Dr Petrou. Walking is highly recommended!
